[915] For whomever, wherever, the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) will arise, will the joy faculty (somanassindriya) arise for that one there?
Those males who, in that very state (bhāva), having manifested some number of existences (bhava) and having been reborn with equanimity (upekkhā), will attain final Nibbāna — for them the masculinity faculty will arise there, but the joy faculty will not arise for them there. For the other beings of the sense sphere (kāmāvacara) — for them both the masculinity faculty will arise there and the joy faculty will arise.
Or, for whomever, wherever, the joy faculty will arise, will the masculinity faculty arise for that one there?
For beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara), and those females who, in that very state, having manifested some number of existences and having been reborn with joy (somanassa), will attain final Nibbāna — for them the joy faculty will arise there, but the masculinity faculty will not arise for them there. For the other beings of the sense sphere — for them both the joy faculty will arise there and the masculinity faculty will arise.
