[96] For whomever unwholesome phenomena (akusalā dhammā) arise, do indeterminate phenomena (abyākatā dhammā) arise for that one?
In the immaterial [plane] (arūpa), at the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of unwholesome [states], unwholesome phenomena arise for them, but indeterminate phenomena do not arise for them. In the five-constituent [existence] (pañcavokāra), at the moment of arising of unwholesome [states], for them both unwholesome phenomena arise and indeterminate phenomena arise.
Or rather, for whomever indeterminate phenomena arise, do unwholesome phenomena arise for that one?
For all [beings] who are being reborn (upapajjantānaṃ), and, in the course of existence (pavatta), at the moment of arising of a mind (citta) dissociated from the unwholesome, indeterminate phenomena arise for them, but unwholesome phenomena do not arise for them. In the five-constituent [existence], at the moment of arising of unwholesome [states], for them both indeterminate phenomena arise and unwholesome phenomena arise.
