[981] For whomever, wherein, the eye-faculty (cakkhundriya) will not arise, will the nose-faculty (ghānindriya) not arise for that one therein?
Yes.
Or else, for whomever, wherein, the nose-faculty will not arise, will the eye-faculty not arise for that one therein?
For beings of the fine-material sphere (rūpāvacara), the nose-faculty will not arise for them therein, but it is not the case that the eye-faculty will not arise for them therein. For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) in five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra), for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta), and for immaterial beings (arūpa), for them therein both the nose-faculty will not arise and the eye-faculty will not arise.
