[1147] A phenomenon (dhamma) associated with painful feeling (vedanā) is a condition, by way of object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya), for a phenomenon associated with pleasant feeling.
Noble ones (ariyā), with a mind (citta) associated with pleasant feeling, review the abandoned defilements (kilesa) associated with painful feeling; they review the suppressed defilements; they know the defilements formerly indulged in; with a mind associated with pleasant feeling they contemplate with insight the aggregates (khandhā) associated with painful feeling as impermanent (anicca), as suffering (dukkha), as not-self (anattā).
Taking the aggregates associated with painful feeling as object, aggregates associated with pleasant feeling arise.
