[1571] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is clung to and subject to clinging (upādinnupādāniya) and a phenomenon that is not clung to but subject to clinging (anupādinnupādāniya) are a condition, by way of nutriment condition (āhāra-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is clung to and subject to clinging and for a phenomenon that is not clung to but subject to clinging:
Edible nutriment (kabaḷīkāra āhāra) that is clung to and subject to clinging and that is not clung to but subject to clinging is a condition, by way of nutriment condition, for the body that is clung to and subject to clinging and that is not clung to but subject to clinging.
