[1] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) with thought-conception and discursive thought (savitakka-savicāra), there arises a phenomenon with thought-conception and discursive thought, through root condition (hetu-paccaya): dependent on one aggregate (khandha) with thought-conception and discursive thought, three aggregates arise; dependent on three aggregates, one aggregate; dependent on two aggregates, two aggregates. At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), dependent on one aggregate with thought-conception and discursive thought, three aggregates arise; dependent on two aggregates, two aggregates.
Dependent on a phenomenon with thought-conception and discursive thought, there arises a phenomenon without thought-conception, with mere discursive thought (avitakka-vicāramatta), through root condition: dependent on the aggregates with thought-conception and discursive thought, thought-conception (vitakka) arises; at the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on the aggregates with thought-conception and discursive thought, thought-conception arises.
Dependent on a phenomenon with thought-conception and discursive thought, there arises a phenomenon without thought-conception and without discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra), through root condition: dependent on the aggregates with thought-conception and discursive thought, mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) arises; at the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on the aggregates with thought-conception and discursive thought, kamma-born form (kaṭattā-rūpa) arises.
