[14] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought (savitakka-savicāra) and on a phenomenon without thought-conception and with only discursive thought (avitakka-vicāramatta), there arises a phenomenon accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought, by root condition (hetu-paccaya): dependent on one aggregate (khandha) accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought and on thought-conception (vitakka), three aggregates arise; dependent on two aggregates and on thought-conception, two aggregates arise. At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), dependent on one aggregate accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought and on thought-conception, three aggregates arise; dependent on two aggregates and on thought-conception, two aggregates arise.
Dependent on a phenomenon accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought and on a phenomenon without thought-conception and with only discursive thought, there arises a phenomenon without thought-conception and without discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra), by root condition: dependent on the aggregates accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought and on thought-conception, mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) arises; at the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on the aggregates accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought and on thought-conception, kamma-produced form (kaṭattā-rūpa) arises.
