[4] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) without thought-conception and with mere discursive thought (avitakka-vicāramatta), a phenomenon without thought-conception and with mere discursive thought arises by root condition (hetu-paccaya): dependent on one aggregate (khandha) without thought-conception and with mere discursive thought, three aggregates arise; dependent on two aggregates, two aggregates arise. At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhikkhaṇa), dependent on one aggregate without thought-conception and with mere discursive thought, three aggregates arise; dependent on two aggregates, two aggregates arise. Dependent on a phenomenon without thought-conception and with mere discursive thought, a phenomenon with thought-conception and discursive thought (savitakka-savicāra) arises by root condition: dependent on thought-conception (vitakka), the aggregates with thought-conception and discursive thought arise. At the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on thought-conception, the aggregates with thought-conception and discursive thought arise. Dependent on a phenomenon without thought-conception and with mere discursive thought, a phenomenon without thought-conception and without discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra) arises by root condition: dependent on the aggregates without thought-conception and with mere discursive thought, discursive thought (vicāra) and mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) arise; dependent on thought-conception, mind-originated form arises. At the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on the aggregates without thought-conception and with mere discursive thought, discursive thought and kamma-born form (kaṭattā-rūpa) arise; at the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on thought-conception, kamma-born form arises.
