[5] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) that is without thought-conception, with discursive thought only (avitakka-vicāramatta), there arise phenomena accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought (savitakka-savicāra) and phenomena without thought-conception and without discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra), by root condition (hetu-paccaya): dependent on thought-conception (vitakka), there arise the aggregates (khandhā) accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought, and mind-originated matter (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa); at the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), dependent on thought-conception, there arise the aggregates accompanied by thought-conception and discursive thought, and kamma-born matter (kaṭattā-rūpa).
Dependent on a phenomenon that is without thought-conception, with discursive thought only, there arise phenomena without thought-conception, with discursive thought only, and phenomena without thought-conception and without discursive thought, by root condition: dependent on one aggregate without thought-conception, with discursive thought only, there arise three aggregates, and discursive thought (vicāra), and mind-originated matter; dependent on two aggregates, there arise two aggregates, and discursive thought, and mind-originated matter. At the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on one aggregate without thought-conception, with discursive thought only, there arise three aggregates, and discursive thought, and kamma-born matter; dependent on two aggregates, there arise two aggregates, and discursive thought, and kamma-born matter.
