[64] In dependence on (paṭicca) a phenomenon (dhamma) with thought and examination (savitakka-savicāra), a phenomenon without thought and with examination only (avitakka-vicāramatta), and a phenomenon without thought and without examination (avitakka-avicāra), a phenomenon with thought and examination arises by not-root condition (na-hetupaccayā).
At the moment of rootless rebirth-linking (ahetuka-paṭisandhikkhaṇa), in dependence on one aggregate (khandha) with thought and examination, and on thought (vitakka) and the base (vatthu), three aggregates arise; in dependence on two aggregates, and on thought and the base, two aggregates arise.
In dependence on a phenomenon with thought and examination, a phenomenon without thought and with examination only, and a phenomenon without thought and without examination, a phenomenon without thought and without examination arises by not-root condition.
