[9] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) with thought and with examination (savitakka-savicāra) and a phenomenon without thought and without examination (avitakka-avicāra), a phenomenon with thought and with examination arises by root condition (hetu-paccaya): at the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi-kkhaṇa), dependent on one aggregate with thought and with examination and the base (vatthu), three aggregates arise; dependent on two aggregates and the base, two aggregates arise.
Dependent on a phenomenon with thought and with examination and a phenomenon without thought and without examination, a phenomenon without thought, with examination only (avitakka-vicāramatta) arises by root condition: at the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on the aggregates with thought and with examination and the base, thought (vitakka) arises.
Dependent on a phenomenon with thought and with examination and a phenomenon without thought and without examination, a phenomenon without thought and without examination arises by root condition: dependent on the aggregates with thought and with examination and the primary elements (mahābhūta), mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) arises; at the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on the aggregates with thought and with examination and the primary elements, kamma-born form (kaṭattā-rūpa) arises.
