[6] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) without applied thought (vitakka) and without sustained thought (vicāra), there arises a phenomenon without applied thought and without sustained thought, by root condition (hetu-paccaya):
Dependent on one aggregate (khandha) without applied thought and without sustained thought, there arise three aggregates and mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhānarūpa); dependent on two aggregates, there arise two aggregates and mind-originated form; dependent on sustained thought, there arises mind-originated form. At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), dependent on one aggregate without applied thought and without sustained thought, there arise three aggregates and kamma-born form (kaṭattārūpa); dependent on two aggregates, there arise two aggregates and kamma-born form. At the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on sustained thought, there arises kamma-born form; dependent on the aggregates, there arises the base (vatthu); dependent on the base, there arise the aggregates; dependent on sustained thought, there arises the base; dependent on the base, there arises sustained thought. Dependent on one great element (mahābhūta), there arise three great elements; dependent on the great elements, there arises mind-originated form and kamma-born form that is derived form (upādārūpa).
Dependent on a phenomenon without applied thought and without sustained thought, there arises a phenomenon with applied thought and sustained thought (savitakka-savicāra), by root condition: at the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on the base, there arise aggregates with applied thought and sustained thought.
Dependent on a phenomenon without applied thought and without sustained thought, there arises a phenomenon without applied thought but with sustained thought only (avitakka-vicāramatta), by root condition: dependent on sustained thought, there arise aggregates without applied thought but with sustained thought only; at the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on sustained thought, there arise aggregates without applied thought but with sustained thought only; at the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on the base, there arise aggregates without applied thought but with sustained thought only; at the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on the base, there arises applied thought.
