[121] A phenomenon (dhamma) with applied thought and sustained thought (savitakka-savicāra) is a condition, by root condition (hetu-paccaya), both for a phenomenon with applied thought and sustained thought and for a phenomenon without applied thought and without sustained thought (avitakka-avicāra).
Roots with applied thought and sustained thought are a condition, by root condition, for the associated aggregates (sampayuttaka-khandhā) and for mind-originated forms (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa).
At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhikkhaṇa), roots with applied thought and sustained thought are a condition, by root condition, for the associated aggregates and for kamma-born forms (kaṭattā-rūpa).
