[1491] A limited phenomenon (paritta dhamma) is a condition for an exalted phenomenon (mahaggata dhamma) by repetition condition (āsevana-paccaya): the preliminary work (parikamma) for the first jhāna is a condition for that same [jhāna] by repetition condition; the preliminary work for the base of neither-perception-nor-non-perception (nevasaññānāsaññāyatana) is a condition for that same [base] by repetition condition; the preliminary work for the divine eye (dibbacakkhu) … the preliminary work for knowledge of the future (anāgataṃsañāṇa) is a condition for knowledge of the future by repetition condition.
