[1573] A phenomenon with an exalted object (mahaggatārammaṇo dhammo) is a condition for a phenomenon with a limited object (parittārammaṇo dhammo) by object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya).
One reviews the reviewing (paccavekkhaṇā) of the first jhāna; one reviews the reviewing of the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception (nevasaññānāsaññāyatana); one reviews the reviewing of the divine eye (dibbacakkhu); one reviews the reviewing of the divine-ear element (dibbasotadhātu); the knowledge of supernormal powers (iddhividha-ñāṇa) … the knowledge of penetrating the minds of others (cetopariyañāṇa) … the knowledge (ñāṇa) of the recollection of past lives (pubbenivāsānussati-ñāṇa) … the knowledge of beings faring according to their kamma (yathākammūpaga-ñāṇa) …; one reviews the reviewing of the knowledge of the future (anāgataṃsa-ñāṇa).
Noble ones (ariyā) review the abandoned defilements (kilesa) that had an exalted object; they review the suppressed defilements; [they know] the defilements formerly indulged in.
One sees with insight the limited aggregates (khandhā) that have an exalted object as impermanent …; one relishes and delights in them. With that as object, lust (rāga) with a limited object … grief arises.
By the knowledge of penetrating the minds of others, one knows the mind (citta) of one who possesses a limited mind with an exalted object.
The limited aggregates that have an exalted object are a condition, by object condition, for the knowledge of penetrating the minds of others, for the knowledge of the recollection of past lives, for the knowledge of beings faring according to their kamma, for the knowledge of the future, and for adverting (āvajjana).
