[185] A phenomenon (dhamma) without thought-conception and without discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra) is a condition, by immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya), for a phenomenon without thought-conception, with only discursive thought (avitakka-vicāramatta).
Each preceding discursive thought (vicāra) is a condition, by immediacy condition, for each succeeding set of aggregates (khandhā) without thought-conception, with only discursive thought.
The death consciousness (cuti-citta) without thought-conception and without discursive thought, and discursive thought, are a condition, by immediacy condition, for the rebirth consciousness (upapatti-citta) without thought-conception, with only discursive thought, and for thought-conception (vitakka).
Aggregates without thought-conception and without discursive thought, and discursive thought, are a condition, by immediacy condition, for emergence (vuṭṭhāna) without thought-conception, with only discursive thought, and for thought-conception.
For one emerging from cessation (nirodha), the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception (nevasaññānāsaññāyatana) is a condition, by immediacy condition, for fruition attainment (phala-samāpatti) without thought-conception, with only discursive thought, and for thought-conception.
