[1901] An arisen phenomenon (uppanno dhammo) is a condition for an arisen phenomenon by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya): object-prenascence (ārammaṇa-purejāta), base-prenascence (vatthu-purejāta).
Object-prenascence: one contemplates with insight the eye … the (heart-)base (vatthu) as impermanent, as suffering (dukkha), as non-self; one relishes it, delights in it; with that as object, lust (rāga) arises, grief (domanassa) arises. With the divine eye (dibba-cakkhu), a form …; with the divine ear element (dibbā sotadhātu) one hears a sound. The form base (rūpāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa), the tangible base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) for body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa), by prenascence condition.
Base-prenascence: the eye base (cakkhāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness … the (heart-)base is a condition for the arisen aggregates (khandhā) by prenascence condition.
