[299] A phenomenon without thought-conception and without discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra) is a condition for a phenomenon with thought-conception and discursive thought (savitakka-savicāra) by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya): object prenascence (ārammaṇa-purejāta) and base prenascence (vatthu-purejāta).
Object prenascence: one contemplates with insight the eye (cakkhu) as impermanent, as suffering (dukkha), as not-self … tangibles (phoṭṭhabba) … one contemplates with insight the base (vatthu) as impermanent, as suffering, as not-self; one enjoys it and delights in it; taking that as object, lust (rāga) arises, grief (domanassa) arises.
Base prenascence: the base is a condition for the aggregates (khandhā) with thought-conception and discursive thought by prenascence condition.
