[298] A phenomenon without thought-conception and without discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra dhamma) is a condition for a phenomenon without thought-conception and without discursive thought by way of prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya) — object-prenascence (ārammaṇa-purejāta) and base-prenascence (vatthu-purejāta).
Object-prenascence: one sees a form with the divine eye (dibbacakkhu); one hears a sound with the divine ear element (dibbā sotadhātu). The form base (rūpāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa), the tangible base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) for body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa), by way of prenascence condition.
Base-prenascence: the eye base (cakkhāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness, the body base (kāyāyatana) for body-consciousness, and the [heart-]base (vatthu) for the aggregates (khandhā) without thought-conception and without discursive thought, and for discursive thought, by way of prenascence condition.
