[297] A phenomenon with thought (vitakka) and examination (vicāra) and a phenomenon without thought and with mere examination (avitakka-vicāramatta) are a condition for a phenomenon with thought and examination and for a phenomenon without thought and with mere examination by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya): object decisive-support (ārammaṇūpanissaya), proximity decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya).
Natural decisive-support: faith (saddhā) that is with thought and examination … virtue (sīla), learning (suta), generosity (cāga), wisdom (paññā), lust (rāga), hatred, delusion, conceit (māna), view (diṭṭhi), wish (patthanā) … and thought are a condition, by decisive-support condition, for faith that is with thought and examination … for wish and for thought.
