[287] A phenomenon (dhamma) without thought (vitakka) and without examination (vicāra) is a condition for a phenomenon with thought and with examination and for a phenomenon without thought and with examination only, by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya).
Object decisive-support (ārammaṇūpanissaya), proximity decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya). Natural decisive-support: faith (saddhā) that is without thought and without examination … lodging (senāsana) is a condition for faith that is with thought and with examination, for virtue (sīla), for aspiration (patthanā), and for thought, by decisive-support condition.
