[240] An impinging (sappaṭigha) phenomenon (dhamma) is a condition for a non-impinging (appaṭigha) phenomenon by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya): object-prenascence (ārammaṇa-purejāta) and base-prenascence (vatthu-purejāta).
Object-prenascence: the eye … tangible objects (phoṭṭhabba) as impermanent … grief (domanassa) arises. One sees a form (rūpa) with the divine eye (dibbacakkhu); one hears a sound with the divine ear element (dibbā sotadhātu). The form base (rūpāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa), and the tangible-object base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) is a condition for body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa), by prenascence condition.
Base-prenascence: the eye base (cakkhāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness, and the body base (kāyāyatana) is a condition for body-consciousness, by prenascence condition.
A non-impinging phenomenon is a condition for a non-impinging phenomenon by prenascence condition: object-prenascence and base-prenascence.
Object-prenascence: the (heart-)base (vatthu) … the femininity faculty (itthindriya), the masculinity faculty (purisindriya), the life faculty (jīvitindriya), the water element (āpo-dhātu) … edible food (kabaḷīkāra āhāra) as impermanent … grief arises.
Base-prenascence: the (heart-)base is a condition for the non-impinging aggregates (khandhā) by prenascence condition.
An impinging phenomenon and a non-impinging phenomenon are conditions for a non-impinging phenomenon by prenascence condition: object-prenascence and base-prenascence. The eye base together with the (heart-)base, and the tangible-object base together with the (heart-)base, are conditions for the non-impinging aggregates by prenascence condition.
