[176] A mind-originated (cittasamuṭṭhāna) phenomenon (dhamma) is a condition for a mind-originated phenomenon by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya): object-prenascence (ārammaṇa-purejāta): one contemplates with insight mind-originated forms … tangible objects as impermanent …; grief (domanassa) arises. One sees a form with the divine eye (dibba-cakkhu); one hears a sound with the divine ear element (dibbā sotadhātu). The form base (rūpāyatana) is a condition for the aggregates (khandhā) accompanied by eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa) by prenascence condition; the tangible-object base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) is a condition for the aggregates accompanied by body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa) by prenascence condition. A mind-originated phenomenon is a condition for a not-mind-originated (no-cittasamuṭṭhāna) phenomenon by prenascence condition: object-prenascence: one contemplates with insight mind-originated forms … tangible objects as impermanent …; one relishes and delights in it; taking that as object, mind (citta) arises. One sees a form with the divine eye; one hears a sound with the divine ear element. The form base is a condition for eye-consciousness, and the tangible-object base for body-consciousness, by prenascence condition.
