[448] A phenomenon dissociated from clinging (upādāna-vippayutta dhamma) is a condition for a phenomenon dissociated from clinging by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya): object-prenascence (ārammaṇa-purejāta) and base-prenascence (vatthu-purejāta).
Object-prenascence: the eye … the base (vatthu) as impermanent … grief (domanassa) arises. One sees a form with the divine eye (dibba-cakkhu); one hears a sound with the divine ear element (dibba-sotadhātu). The form base (rūpāyatana) [is a condition] for eye-consciousness (cakkhu-viññāṇa); the tangible-object base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) … .
Base-prenascence: the eye base (cakkhāyatana) [is a condition] for eye-consciousness; the body base (kāyāyatana) … . The base is a condition for the aggregates (khandhā) dissociated from clinging, and for greed (lobha), by prenascence condition.
A phenomenon dissociated from clinging is a condition for a phenomenon associated with clinging (upādāna-sampayutta dhamma) by prenascence condition: object-prenascence and base-prenascence.
