[389] A phenomenon (dhamma) dissociated from taints (āsava) is a condition for a phenomenon dissociated from taints by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya): object-prenascence (ārammaṇa-purejāta) and base-prenascence (vatthu-purejāta).
Object-prenascence: one contemplates with insight the eye (cakkhu) … the base (vatthu) as impermanent (anicca), as suffering (dukkha), as not-self (anattā); one sees forms (rūpa) with the divine eye (dibba-cakkhu) and hears sounds with the divine ear element (dibbā sotadhātu); the form base (rūpāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness (cakkhu-viññāṇa), the tangible base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) for body-consciousness (kāya-viññāṇa).
Base-prenascence: the eye base (cakkhāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness, the body base (kāyāyatana) for body-consciousness; the base is a condition for the aggregates (khandha) dissociated from taints and for delusion (moha) by prenascence condition.
A phenomenon dissociated from taints is a condition for a phenomenon associated with taints by prenascence condition: object-prenascence and base-prenascence.
Object-prenascence: one relishes and delights in the eye … the base; taking that as object, lust (rāga) arises … grief (domanassa) arises.
Base-prenascence: the base is a condition for the aggregates associated with taints by prenascence condition.
