[280] An internal phenomenon (ajjhattika dhamma) is a condition for an internal phenomenon by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya): object-prenascence (ārammaṇa-purejāta) and base-prenascence (vatthu-purejāta).
Object-prenascence: One contemplates with insight the eye … the body as impermanent …, relishes it and delights in it; taking that as object, mind (citta) arises.
Base-prenascence: The eye base (cakkhāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa), the body base (kāyāyatana) for body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa), by prenascence condition.
An internal phenomenon is a condition for an external phenomenon (bāhira dhamma) by prenascence condition: object-prenascence and base-prenascence.
