[688] A phenomenon without rapture (appītiko dhammo) is a condition for a phenomenon without rapture by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya): object-prenascence (ārammaṇa-purejāta) and base-prenascence (vatthu-purejāta).
Object-prenascence: one sees with insight the eye (cakkhu) … the base (vatthu) as impermanent … with a mind (citta) without rapture; one relishes it, one delights in it; with that as object, lust (rāga) without rapture … grief, rapture (pīti) arise. With the divine eye … the tangible-object base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) is a condition for body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa).
Base-prenascence: the eye base (cakkhāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa), the body base (kāyāyatana) for body-consciousness, and the base for the aggregates (khandhā) without rapture and for rapture, by prenascence condition.
