Parāmāssampayuttaduka

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Paṭṭhāna (3) · Vol. 42 · Section 716

[716] A phenomenon (dhamma) dissociated from misapprehension (parāmāsa-vippayutta) is a condition for a phenomenon dissociated from misapprehension by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya): object-prenascence (ārammaṇa-purejāta) and base-prenascence (vatthu-purejāta). Object-prenascence: One contemplates with insight the eye … the base (vatthu) as impermanent …; one relishes it and delights in it. With that as object, there arise lust (rāga) dissociated from misapprehension, doubt (vicikicchā), restlessness (uddhacca), and grief (domanassa). With the divine eye one sees a form; with the divine ear element one hears a sound. The form base (rūpāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa), and the tangible base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) for body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa), by prenascence condition. Base-prenascence: The eye base (cakkhāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness, the body base (kāyāyatana) for body-consciousness, and the base for the aggregates (khandhā) dissociated from misapprehension, by prenascence condition. A phenomenon dissociated from misapprehension is a condition for a phenomenon associated with misapprehension (parāmāsa-sampayutta) by prenascence condition: object-prenascence and base-prenascence. Object-prenascence: One relishes and delights in the eye … the base; with that as object, lust associated with misapprehension arises. Base-prenascence: The base is a condition for the aggregates associated with misapprehension by prenascence condition.
