[681] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is not misapprehension (parāmāsa) is a condition for a phenomenon that is not misapprehension by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya): object-prenascence (ārammaṇa-purejāta) and base-prenascence (vatthu-purejāta).
Object-prenascence: one contemplates with insight the eye … the [heart-]base (vatthu) as impermanent …; one relishes and delights in it; with that as object, lust (rāga), doubt (vicikicchā), restlessness (uddhacca), and grief (domanassa) arise. One sees a form with the divine eye (dibbacakkhu); one hears a sound with the divine ear element (dibbā sotadhātu). The form base (rūpāyatana) [is a condition] for eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa), the tangible-object base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) for body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa).
Base-prenascence: the eye base (cakkhāyatana) [is a condition] for eye-consciousness, the body base (kāyāyatana) for body-consciousness; the [heart-]base is a condition for the aggregates (khandhā) that are not misapprehension by prenascence condition.
A phenomenon that is not misapprehension is a condition for a phenomenon that is misapprehension by prenascence condition: object-prenascence and base-prenascence.
Object-prenascence: one relishes and delights in the eye … the [heart-]base; with that as object, view (diṭṭhi) … .
Base-prenascence: the [heart-]base is a condition for misapprehension by prenascence condition.
A phenomenon that is not misapprehension is a condition for a phenomenon that is misapprehension and for a phenomenon that is not misapprehension by prenascence condition: object-prenascence and base-prenascence.
Object-prenascence: one relishes and delights in the eye … the [heart-]base; with that as object, misapprehension and the associated (sampayuttaka) aggregates arise.
Base-prenascence: the [heart-]base is a condition for misapprehension and the associated aggregates by prenascence condition.
