[802] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is not of the formless sphere (na-arūpāvacara) is a condition for a phenomenon that is not of the formless sphere by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya): object-prenascence (ārammaṇa-purejāta) and base-prenascence (vatthu-purejāta).
Object-prenascence: the eye … the base (vatthu) as impermanent … grief arises. One sees a form with the divine eye (dibbacakkhu); one hears a sound with the divine ear element (dibbā sotadhātu). The form base (rūpāyatana) (is a condition) for eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa); the tangible-object base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) (is a condition) for body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa).
