[742] A sense-sphere phenomenon (kāmāvacara dhamma) is a condition (paccaya) for a sense-sphere phenomenon by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya): object-prenascence (ārammaṇa-purejāta) and base-prenascence (vatthu-purejāta).
Object-prenascence: the eye … the base (vatthu) as impermanent … grief (domanassa) arises. The form base (rūpāyatana) [is a condition] for eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa); the tangible-object base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) for body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa).
Base-prenascence: the eye base (cakkhāyatana) [is a condition] for eye-consciousness; the body base (kāyāyatana) … the base is a condition for the sense-sphere aggregates (khandhā) by prenascence condition.
