[23] A non-root phenomenon (nahetu dhamma) is a condition for a non-root phenomenon by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya): object-prenascence (ārammaṇa-purejāta) and base-prenascence (vatthu-purejāta).
Object-prenascence: One sees with insight the eye … the base (vatthu) as impermanent, as suffering, as non-self … grief (domanassa) arises. One sees a form with the divine eye and hears a sound with the divine ear element (dibbā sotadhātu). The form base (rūpāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa) … the tangible base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) is a condition for body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa) by prenascence condition.
Base-prenascence: The eye base (cakkhāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness by prenascence condition … the body base (kāyāyatana) is a condition for body-consciousness by prenascence condition. The base is a condition for the non-root aggregates (khandhā) by prenascence condition.
