[197] Phenomena (dhammā) with applied thought and sustained thought (savitakka-savicāra) and phenomena without applied thought, with sustained thought only (avitakka-vicāramatta), are a condition for a phenomenon with applied thought and sustained thought and for a phenomenon without applied thought, with sustained thought only, by immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya).
The preceding aggregates (khandhā) with applied thought and sustained thought, and applied thought (vitakka), are a condition for the subsequent aggregates with applied thought and sustained thought and for applied thought, by immediacy condition.
Conformity (anuloma) and applied thought are a condition for change-of-lineage (gotrabhū) and for applied thought; conformity and applied thought are a condition for cleansing (vodāna) and for applied thought; change-of-lineage and applied thought are a condition for the path (magga) with applied thought and sustained thought and for applied thought; cleansing and applied thought are a condition for the path with applied thought and sustained thought and for applied thought, by immediacy condition.
The path with applied thought and sustained thought, and applied thought, are a condition for the fruition (phala) with applied thought and sustained thought and for applied thought; the fruition with applied thought and sustained thought, and applied thought, are a condition for the fruition with applied thought and sustained thought and for applied thought; conformity and applied thought are a condition for the attainment of fruition (phala-samāpatti) with applied thought and sustained thought and for applied thought, by immediacy condition.
