[2078] An external phenomenon (bahiddhā dhamma) is a condition for an internal phenomenon (ajjhatta dhamma) by object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya).
The noble ones (ariyā) review Nibbāna.
Nibbāna is a condition for change-of-lineage (gotrabhū), for cleansing (vodāna), for the path (magga), for fruition (phala), and for adverting (āvajjana), by object condition.
The external eye (cakkhu) … the base (vatthu) … external aggregates (khandhā) as impermanent … grief (domanassa) arises.
One sees a form (rūpa) with the divine eye (dibbacakkhu); one hears a sound with the divine ear element (dibbā sotadhātu). By the knowledge that penetrates the minds of others (cetopariya-ñāṇa), one knows the mind (citta) of one possessed of an external mind.
The external form sense base (rūpāyatana) is a condition for internal eye-consciousness (cakkhu-viññāṇa); the external tangible sense base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) is a condition for internal body-consciousness (kāya-viññāṇa).
External aggregates are a condition for the knowledge of supernormal powers (iddhividha-ñāṇa), for the knowledge that penetrates the minds of others, for the knowledge of the recollection of past lives (pubbenivāsānussati-ñāṇa), for the knowledge of faring according to kamma (yathākammūpaga-ñāṇa), for the knowledge of the future (anāgataṃsa-ñāṇa), and for adverting, by object condition.
