[2114] An internal phenomenon (dhamma) and an external phenomenon are a condition for an internal phenomenon by presence condition (atthi-paccaya): prenascence, nutriment.
Prenascence: the external form base (rūpāyatana) and the internal eye [are a condition] for internal eye-consciousness; the external tangible-object base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) and the internal body base (kāyāyatana) are a condition for internal body-consciousness by presence condition. The external form base and the internal base (vatthu) … the external tangible-object base and the internal base are a condition for the internal aggregates by presence condition.
Nutriment: internal edible food (kabaḷīkāra āhāra) and external edible food are a condition for the internal body by presence condition.
