[2115] An internal phenomenon (ajjhatto dhammo) and an external phenomenon (bahiddhā dhammo) are a condition for an external phenomenon by presence condition (atthi-paccaya): prenascence (purejāta), nutriment (āhāra).
Prenascence: The internal form base (rūpāyatana) and the external eye base (cakkhāyatana) are a condition for external eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa) by presence condition. The internal tangible-object base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) and the external body base (kāyāyatana) are a condition for external body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa) by presence condition. The internal form base and the external base (vatthu) are a condition for the external aggregates (khandhā) by presence condition. The internal tangible-object base and the external base are a condition for the external aggregates by presence condition.
Nutriment: Internal edible food (kabaḷiṅkāra āhāra) and external edible food are a condition for the external body by presence condition.
