[2093] Internal and external phenomena (dhammā) are a condition for an internal phenomenon by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya).
Object-prenascence (ārammaṇa-purejāta), base-prenascence (vatthu-purejāta):
The external form base (rūpāyatana) and the internal eye base (cakkhāyatana) are a condition for internal eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa) by prenascence condition; the external tangible-object base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) and the internal body base (kāyāyatana), for internal body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa); the external form base and the internal base (vatthu) … the external tangible-object base and the internal base are a condition for the internal aggregates (khandhā) by prenascence condition.
