[2111] An internal phenomenon (ajjhatta dhamma) is a condition for an external phenomenon (bahiddhā dhamma) by presence condition (atthi-paccaya): prenascence (purejāta), nutriment (āhāra).

The internal form base (rūpāyatana) … the tangible base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) is a condition for external body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa) by presence condition. Internal edible nutriment (kabaḷīkāra āhāra) is a condition for the external body by presence condition.
