[290] A phenomenon (dhamma) without applied thought and with only sustained thought (avitakka-vicāramatta) and a phenomenon without applied thought and without sustained thought (avitakka-avicāra) are a condition for a phenomenon without applied thought and without sustained thought by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya): proximity decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya).
Natural decisive-support: Faith (saddhā) that is without applied thought and with only sustained thought … virtue (sīla), learning (suta), generosity (cāga), wisdom (paññā) … and sustained thought (vicāra) are a condition, by decisive-support condition, for faith that is without applied thought and without sustained thought, for virtue, for learning, for generosity, for wisdom, and for sustained thought, for bodily pleasure (kāyika sukha), for bodily pain (kāyika dukkha).
