[338] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is without applied thought and with mere sustained thought (avitakka-vicāramatta) is a condition, by kamma condition (kamma-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is without applied thought and with mere sustained thought and for a phenomenon that is without applied thought and without sustained thought (avitakka-avicāra): conascent (sahajāta), asynchronous (nānākkhaṇika).
Conascent: volition (cetanā) that is without applied thought and with mere sustained thought is a condition, by kamma condition, for the associated (sampayuttaka) aggregates (khandha), for sustained thought (vicāra), and for mind-originated forms (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa). At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), volition that is without applied thought and with mere sustained thought is a condition, by kamma condition, for the associated aggregates, for sustained thought, and for kamma-born forms (kaṭattā-rūpa).
Asynchronous: volition that is without applied thought and with mere sustained thought is a condition, by kamma condition, for the resultant (vipāka) aggregates that are without applied thought and with mere sustained thought, for sustained thought, and for kamma-born forms.
