[45] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) with thought and examination (savitakka-savicāra), on a phenomenon without thought, with examination only (avitakka-vicāramatta), and on a phenomenon without thought and without examination (avitakka-avicāra), there arise phenomena with thought and examination and phenomena without thought and without examination, by dissociation condition (vippayutta-paccaya).
At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhikkhaṇa), dependent on one aggregate (khandha) with thought and examination, on thought (vitakka), and on the base (vatthu), three aggregates arise; and [dependent on] two aggregates … ; dependent on the aggregates with thought and examination, on thought, and on the primary elements (mahābhūta), kamma-born materiality (kaṭattārūpa) arises. The aggregates [arise dependent on] the base by dissociation condition; the kamma-born materiality [arises dependent on] the aggregates and thought by dissociation condition.
