[684] A phenomenon (dhamma) to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development (nevadassanena-nabhāvanāya-pahātabba) is a condition, by predominance condition (adhipati-paccaya), for a phenomenon to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development — object predominance (ārammaṇādhipati) and conascence predominance (sahajātādhipati).
Object predominance: Having given a gift (dāna), having undertaken virtue (sīla), having performed the uposatha observance (uposathakamma), one esteems and reviews that; things formerly well done … Having emerged from jhāna, one esteems and reviews the jhāna.
Noble ones, having emerged from the path (magga), esteem and review the path; they esteem and review the fruition (phala); they esteem and review Nibbāna. Nibbāna is a condition, by predominance condition, for change-of-lineage (gotrabhū), for purification (vodāna), for the path, and for the fruition.
Conascence predominance: a predominance that is to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development is a condition, by predominance condition, for the associated aggregates (khandha) and for the forms (rūpa) originated by mind (cittasamuṭṭhāna).
