[150] A not-root, rootless phenomenon (nahetu ahetuko dhammo) is a condition for a not-root, rootless phenomenon by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya): object-prenascence (ārammaṇa-purejāta) and base-prenascence (vatthu-purejāta).
Object-prenascence: the eye … the base (vatthu) as impermanent … grief (domanassa) arises. When the wholesome and the unwholesome have ceased, a not-root, rootless resultant (vipāka) arises as registration (tadārammaṇatā). The form base (rūpāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness (cakkhu-viññāṇa), the tangible-object base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) for body-consciousness (kāya-viññāṇa), by prenascence condition.
Base-prenascence: the eye base (cakkhāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness, the body base (kāyāyatana) for body-consciousness; the base is a condition for the not-root, rootless aggregates (khandha) by prenascence condition.
A not-root, rootless phenomenon is a condition for a not-root, with-root phenomenon (nahetu sahetuko dhammo) by prenascence condition: object-prenascence and base-prenascence.
