[546] A phenomenon (dhamma) associated with ties (gantha-sampayutta) is a condition for a phenomenon associated with ties by way of root condition (hetu-paccaya): roots (hetu) associated with ties are a condition for the associated aggregates (sampayuttaka khandha) by way of root condition. A phenomenon associated with ties is a condition for a phenomenon dissociated from ties (gantha-vippayutta) by way of root condition: roots associated with ties are a condition for mind-originated forms (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) by way of root condition; the root accompanied by greed (lobha) dissociated from views (diṭṭhigata-vippayutta) is a condition for greed and for mind-originated forms by way of root condition; the root accompanied by grief (domanassa) is a condition for repulsion (paṭigha) and for mind-originated forms by way of root condition.
