[586] Conditioned by a hindrance phenomenon (nīvaraṇa-dhamma), a hindrance phenomenon arises, by not-root condition (na-hetupaccaya): conditioned by the hindrance of doubt (vicikicchā), the hindrance of ignorance (avijjā) arises; conditioned by the hindrance of restlessness (uddhacca), the hindrance of ignorance arises.
Conditioned by a non-hindrance phenomenon (no-nīvaraṇa-dhamma), a non-hindrance phenomenon arises, by not-root condition: conditioned by one rootless (ahetuka) non-hindrance aggregate (khandha), three aggregates and mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) arise; conditioned by two aggregates … up to the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā); conditioned by the base (vatthu), the rootless non-hindrance aggregates arise.
