[349] Dependent on a clung-to phenomenon (upādinna dhamma), a clung-to phenomenon arises, not by kamma-result condition (na vipākapaccayā): for the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā), [dependent on] one great essential (mahābhūta) … dependent on the great essentials, kamma-born materiality (kaṭattārūpa) that is derivative materiality (upādā-rūpa) [arises].
Dependent on a not-clung-to phenomenon (anupādinna dhamma), a not-clung-to phenomenon arises, not by kamma-result condition: dependent on one not-clung-to aggregate, three aggregates and mind-originated materiality (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) [arise]; [dependent on] two aggregates … one great essential, as far as the temperature-originated [materiality] (utusamuṭṭhāna).
