[624] A phenomenon (dhamma) with roots to be abandoned by seeing (dassanena pahātabbahetuka) is a condition, by immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya), for a phenomenon with roots to be abandoned by seeing: The preceding aggregates (khandhā) with roots to be abandoned by seeing are a condition, by immediacy condition, for the subsequent aggregates. The root (mūlaṃ) [should be supplied]. The preceding aggregates accompanied by doubt (vicikicchā) are a condition, by immediacy condition, for the subsequent delusion (moha) accompanied by doubt. The aggregates with roots to be abandoned by seeing are a condition, by immediacy condition, for emergence (vuṭṭhāna). The root [should be supplied]. The preceding aggregates accompanied by doubt are a condition, by immediacy condition, for the subsequent aggregates accompanied by doubt and for delusion. A phenomenon not having roots to be abandoned by seeing (na-dassanena-pahātabbahetuka) is a condition, by immediacy condition, for a phenomenon not having roots to be abandoned by seeing: The preceding delusion accompanied by doubt is a condition, by immediacy condition, for the subsequent delusion accompanied by doubt. The preceding [phenomena] not having roots to be abandoned by seeing … are a condition, by immediacy condition, for the attainment of fruition (phalasamāpatti). The root [should be supplied].
