[845] A fixed phenomenon (niyato dhammo) is a condition for a fixed phenomenon by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya): natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya): the kamma of matricide (mātughātakamma) is a condition, by decisive-support condition, for the kamma of matricide, for the kamma of patricide (pitughātakamma), for the kamma of killing an Arahant (arahantaghātakamma), for the kamma of shedding blood (ruhiruppādakamma), for the kamma of schism in the Saṅgha (saṅghabhedakamma), for fixed wrong view (niyata-micchādiṭṭhi). (The wheel — cakka.) The first path (magga) is a condition for the second path, the second path for the third path, the third path for the fourth path, by decisive-support condition.
A fixed phenomenon is a condition for an unfixed phenomenon (aniyato dhammo) by decisive-support condition: object decisive-support (ārammaṇūpanissaya), proximity decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive-support … Natural decisive-support: having deprived one's mother of life … having caused schism in the Saṅgha, in order to counteract that, a gift (dāna) … virtue (sīla) … the uposatha observance (uposathakamma) … The noble ones, depending on the path, produce the attainment (samāpatti) not yet arisen; the arisen … is a condition, by decisive-support condition, for skill in what is possible and impossible (ṭhānāṭhāna-kosalla). The path is a condition for the attainment of fruition (phalasamāpatti) by decisive-support condition.
An unfixed phenomenon is a condition for an unfixed phenomenon by decisive-support condition: object decisive-support, proximity decisive-support, natural decisive-support … Natural decisive-support: depending on unfixed faith (saddhā), a gift … virtue, the uposatha observance, jhāna, insight (vipassanā), superknowledge (abhiññā) …, one produces an attainment, conceives conceit (māna), grasps a view (diṭṭhi); depending on unfixed virtue … wisdom (paññā), lust (rāga), longing (patthanā), bodily pleasure (kāyikaṃ sukhaṃ), bodily pain (kāyikaṃ dukkhaṃ) … a lodging (senāsana), a gift …, one produces an attainment, kills a living being …, [commits] the destruction of a town … Unfixed faith … a lodging is a condition, by decisive-support condition, for unfixed faith … for longing, for bodily pleasure, for bodily pain, for the attainment of fruition.
