[216] Bhikkhus, here a bhikkhu against whom the Saṅgha has carried out an act of reconciliation (paṭisāraṇīyakamma) conducts himself properly, lowers his hackles, behaves so as to deserve release, and asks for the revocation of the act of reconciliation. If in that case it occurs to the bhikkhus thus: "Friends, this bhikkhu against whom the Saṅgha has carried out an act of reconciliation conducts himself properly, lowers his hackles, behaves so as to deserve release, and asks for the revocation of the act of reconciliation. Come now, let us revoke the act of reconciliation for him," and they revoke the act of reconciliation for him — as an incomplete assembly, contrary to Dhamma … as a complete assembly, contrary to Dhamma; as an incomplete assembly, in accordance with Dhamma; as an incomplete assembly, with a semblance of Dhamma; as a complete assembly, with a semblance of Dhamma.
