[234] "Bhikkhus, here a bhikkhu against whom an act of reconciliation (paṭisāraṇīyakamma) has been carried out by the Saṅgha conducts himself properly, is subdued, mends his ways, and asks for the revocation of the act of reconciliation. If in that case the bhikkhus think: 'Friends, this bhikkhu against whom the act of reconciliation was carried out by the Saṅgha conducts himself properly, is subdued, mends his ways, and asks for the revocation of the act of reconciliation. Come, let us revoke the act of reconciliation for him' — and they revoke the act of reconciliation for him contrary to Dhamma, by an incomplete assembly … contrary to Dhamma, by a complete assembly; in accordance with Dhamma, by an incomplete assembly; with a semblance of Dhamma, by an incomplete assembly; with a semblance of Dhamma, by a complete assembly — then the Saṅgha present there disputes: 'It is an act contrary to Dhamma by an incomplete assembly; an act contrary to Dhamma by a complete assembly; an act in accordance with Dhamma by an incomplete assembly; an act with a semblance of Dhamma by an incomplete assembly; an act with a semblance of Dhamma by a complete assembly; the act is not validly done; the act is wrongly done; the act must be done again.'
"Therein, bhikkhus, those bhikkhus who say, 'It is an act with a semblance of Dhamma by a complete assembly,' and those bhikkhus who say, 'The act is not validly done, the act is wrongly done, the act must be done again' — these bhikkhus therein are speakers of Dhamma."
